Did you know? Chess puzzles are more than a thousand years old. Arabic players collected them in books called mansubat in the 800s and 900s, and some of those puzzles still work on a modern board, even though a few of the pieces moved differently back then.

How to solve a puzzle. Look at every check first, then every capture, then every threat. The answer is almost always one of those three, because a move your opponent is forced to answer takes all their other choices away.
